Izanagi, Amaterasu, and Tsukuyomi

Some recent illustrations I did recently! Each depict a God in Japanese mythology. This isn't actually what they look like, but my versions of them in animal form. I've got Izanagi, the male creator in Japanese mythology, represented as a red-crowned crane. In the myth, he takes his first bath, and three of his kids pop out from his eyes and nose, including Tsukuyomi, the moon god, who I've drawn as a Japanese raccoon dog. Then there's Amaterasu, another of Izanagi's children, portrayed as a red fox. I tried to capture the part of the story where she's a moody teenager, locking herself in a dark cave and plunging the world into darkness by removing the sun.
